Mama Jama visits Loyd Presbyterian Church
Mama Jama, the popular children’s storyteller, recently visited Loyd Presbyterian Church to participate in Rally Day. During her visit, Mama Jama shared the good news about literacy and its importance in the Troup County community.
As a show of appreciation to Mama Jama, the Church contributed more than $200, many new and gently-used books and a variety of school supplies in support of CLCP's literacy efforts. The majority of the school supplies were distributed to children in the afterschool programs at the LaGrange Housing Authority.
Troup County CLCP is a collaborative between local business, education, government and community. To accomplish our goal of a certified literate community, the CLCP encourages a love of reading as a foundation for lifelong learning and supports those programs with similar goals. CLCP promotes literacy awareness and programs to assist students in need of basic literacy education.
