The seventh annual Charlie Joseph’s Lobbin for Literacy tennis tournament, to benefit Troup County Certified Literate Community Program, is scheduled for June 17-20, 2010 at the McCluskey Tennis Center. With competition for all ages and skill levels, the event provides tennis players with an excellent opportunity to enjoy their favorite sport while supporting a worthwhile cause. All proceeds from the tournament benefit the CLCP Summer Reading Program in the Benjamin Harvey Hill Homes community.
Held during the months of June and July, the CLCP Summer Reading Program provides books, arts and crafts supplies, school supplies and snacks for participating children. Mama Jama and other special guests provide the children with stories and encouragement to continue reading during the summer months.
“It’s time to raise a racket for literacy and this year it’s easier than ever to register,” said Debbie Burdette, Executive Director of Troup County CLCP. “You can visit
