The Dictionary Project was the idea of Brooke Oliver, a 2004 graduate of LaGrange High School. When Brooke was a senior in high school she wanted to do something for the students of Troup County before she left to attend college. In her search she came across the Dictionary Project. This project provides dictionaries to all third graders. With the help of CLCP and Wal-Mart Distribution Center, dictionaries have been given to all third graders in the Troup County public schools beginning in 2004. Total Dictionaries distributed since 2004 is 12,132. The project now includes private schools, alternative schools as well as adult education classes.
